Each one deserves a second chance at finding a forever home.
Illinois Shorthair Rescue is a non-profit breed rescue group based in Northern Illinois. Our mission is to help German Shorthaired Pointers in need; place them in responsible, loving homes, and educate the public about the breed. We save GSPs from animal control facilities, humane societies, and neglect, cruelty, or owner give-up situations. Our rescued dogs get loving care and needed medical attention. They are fostered in private homes and live indoors as family companions while they wait for their forever homes. Learn More About ISR

GSP Rescue Calendar a Success - Wednesday, February 01, 2012

Trapper - An ISR Success Story - Wednesday, February 01, 2012

Trapper was found in Central Illinois, caught in an animal trap, and lost a leg as a result. Within the same day of learning about this guy, ISR set up a swift response by volunteers near and far and was transported up North where he had undergone orthopedic surgery. He is now fully recovered and is ready for his forever home. Read more about Trapper's story under Adoptable Dogs.
